Practical lessons (suggestions) for learning to pilot with flight assist off, each broken down in to their component control inputs in individual exercises that progressively increase in difficulty to eventually enable you with a basic FA Off skill set. (Chapter links below for skipping to certain lessons). Once learnt separately to bring the ship under control in all circumstances, one can then add or remove (not apply) the relevant thruster (or counter) to manoeuvre where ever you want intentionally. Plus tips on control input amounts (or durations) depending on if you've analogue or digital thruster controls for when toggling between the two modes FA On & Off, demonstrating the advantages and disadvantages of each. T'is rather a long guide, mainly because of this digital vs analogue dilemma, but I've intentionally broken it down into various lessons each with their relevant time-code[s] so you can come back to it another time and continue on from where you left off.

Learning Flight Assist Off (Part 3)    • Elite: Dangerous - Learning [combat with] ...

One mistake in Pt4 "Introduction: Pitch with Boost". For some reason I say when we are sat still with no vector (ship) momentum you will have the quickest orientation possible - Not true!.. the quickest orientation is when the ship is travelling at a speed in the throttle's blue zone (note: when using E:D's default mostly orange UI colour) which is explained correctly in Part 14 as it happens. Forgive the error. I believe I was trying to say the inputs will be simple on their own without any vector momentum because it is in slow motion compared to when you are in the blue zone with vector momentum.
