Doux des Landes an annuum variety from the south of France. Grown for a few years now and always look great, but haven’t tried them as yet, suppose to be mild, can take it easy on Charlotte this time
The plants are stocky and fairly compact in relation to pod size, ours got to around 60cm tall but was still growing so will get a bit taller, the pods start off green, get to around 20cm long and ripen red, thick walled, get quite a few as the plant is a great producer.
What’s it Like?
How Hot is It?
Crunchy, fairly thick skinned, straight up you get a slight sweetness and a little tang, tastes like an apple crossed with a pear, they are really nice and if not like capsicum flavour, use these instead
Heat, um no. there isn’t any whatsoever we both found.
If not into heat but would like to use chillies in cooking or in salads, have kids and want to get them into chilli then these are perfect, easy to grow and maintain, taste great and produce heaps.
