Here I take a semi-seasoned slice of Yew tree trunk and turn it on the lathe into a shallow platter/ bowl while trying to keep as much of the original wavy edge as possible.
Once rough turned it was kept in a bag with the shavings for nearly 6 weeks to draw out the remaining moisture. During this time I removed it from the bag to air both the bowl and the shavings. This happened a couple of times a week for each of the 6 weeks.
The multitool made a guest appearance here to speed up tidying the edges and the piece was finished in danish oil.
