Here I take a silver birch burl with tons of character and turn it on the lathe into probably one of my favourite piece to date. Silver birch is a lovely wood to turn, it cuts, sands and finishes beautifully.
There was a slight hiccup during the turning process, see if you can spot it.
With that in mind it is always good practice to wear you safety gear when using machinery like this and to also be very mindful of what is happening in front of you.
I shaped, sanded to 320 grit (mostly off camera) and finished this bowl in a few coats of Morrells Holzol food-safe worktop oil.
The audio is an original piece which I wrote to accompany this video.
Hope you are all doing well out there and thanks for watching.
Comments always welcome.
