Woodturning - Live edge lime vase / Hollow form.
Hello and welcome to the channel. In this video I make a live edge vase on the woodturning lathe. This piece of lime is one of a few chunks that came to me from a friend who recently had a tree surgeon round.
I began by mounting the wood between centres on a drive spur, with a 3/8ths bowl gouge and a parting tool I formed a tenon. This was then securely held in the chuck for the rest of the shaping.
Hollowed with a forstner bit and a 6mm swan neck carbide tool.
Finished in shellac and wood wax.
