Schools are taking down analogue clocks from exam halls because many teenagers are unable to tell the time using them.
According to teachers, many students find it difficult to read traditional clock faces, which has caused stress during exams. As a result, some schools have started replacing analogue clocks with digital ones to make it easier for students to check the time.
Malcolm Trobe, deputy general secretary at the Association of School and College Leaders, explained that students are more accustomed to digital devices, like phones and tablets, which show time in a digital format. So, schools are making changes to create a more comfortable exam environment for them.
This move is seen as a way to reduce anxiety and help students focus better during exams, as they won’t need to worry about reading the time on an analogue clock.
