1. Open your photo.
Choose File-Open, click your photo then click Open.
2. Open the first watercolor texture.
Choose File-Place.
Find the location of your texture file.
Click the texture file.
Click Place.
Click-drag on the Free Transform border box to adjust the size and position of the texture.
Press Enter when you're done.
Change the blend mode of the watercolor texture to overlay.
3. Add the second texture.
Choose File-Place.
Choose your second texture file.
Adjust its size and position on canvas.
Change its blend mode to Lighter Color.
4. Add the third texture.
Choose File-Place.
Choose your third texture.
Adjust its size and psition on canvas.
Change its blend mode to Color Burn.
5. Add the fourth texture.
Chose File-Place.
Choose your fourth texture.
Adjust its size and position on canvas.
Change layer's blend mode to Multiply.
I'm going to set the layer's opacity to 20%.
6. Add the fifth texture.
Choose File-Place.
Choose the fifth texture.
Adjust its position and size.
Change the layer's blend mode to subtract.
Adjust the layer's opacity to 20%.
One of the advantages of Photoshop is that layers have color blending settings or blend modes.
By making a combination between layers, adjusting the blend mode and adjusting the opacity,
you can produce interesting photo effects.
One of them is the watercolor effect or the mixed art effect or also known as the watercolor painting effect.
The blend mode settings for each layer above are just examples.
You can adjust them depend on the texture files you have.
Keep experiment until you get the watercolor effect you want.
