Learning on Ice: Capitals Bring STEM Education to Life for Hollin Meadows Elementary School
On February 29th, 100 fifth-grade students from Hollin Meadows Elementary had the unique opportunity to explore the intersection of sports and education at the Washington Capitals’ practice facility. This engaging event was a hands-on extension of the Future Goals curriculum, bringing STEM principles to life through the exciting world of hockey.
From learning about the physics behind a slapshot to understanding the math that goes into ice rink design, the event provided a fun and educational experience that underscored the importance of STEM education in sports.
