BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - Spring Knit Along - Podcast ep. 40

In this special 40th (!!!) episode of our podcast, Iris and Kristin reveal the Spring Knit Along — it's the Love Note by Tin Can Knits! This Knit Along kicks off on April 6th in the shop and on April 9th on Zoom and will run through the end of May.
Today we share why we chose Love Note and then we do some yarn show-and-tell with some of the many beautiful options to get your inspiration flowing. You might notice that this is our SECOND Tin Can Knits KAL pattern we've chosen for a KAL — it’s because we love knitting their patterns, they’ve got great support tutorials, and really clear instructions (plus a handy app!).
Love Note is VERY customizable — from yarn choice, to design elements like sleeve length and whether you want a dropped hem or not. It comes in 15 sizes from baby through adult and is intended to have a bit of ease (4”-12”) for a light and airy look. The gauge is somewhat open so it’s suitable for a summer weight top or a light sweater that could see you through the seasons. Love Note is knit holding two yarns together — fingering + lace — or if that makes you nervous, try a single strand of DK.
New to knitting lace? That’s awesome, because this is a beginner-friendly lace pattern. Tin Can Knits has a free course to “Learn Lace in 3” which is a fabulous resource as a refresher or for a newbie lace knitter. The course begins with “What is lace anyway?” — and includes some really great information about understanding lace technique, as well as how to read a lace chart, and more.
