Socktober 24 — Virtual Meet-Up 10/23/24
Socktober's nearly SocktOVER... but we have one more online meet-up next week adn one more meet-up in the shop! It's really fun to see our Zoom group making progress with their socks:
Mary, who had the laddering problem in last week's meet-up, reported back that she tried Julie's suggestion of moving a few stitches around on the DPN near the beginning of the round, which has been working well!
Leslie is just about done with her first knee sock in Summer Sock by Laines du Nord! It's a beautiful cotton sock yarn and Leslie reports that it's been nice to work with:

Several folks have explored patterns that use the Fish Lips Kiss heel. It calls for the Twin Stitch short-row method (aka Shadow Wrap), which is a great and transferrable short-row method: • Video
We talked a bit about 9" circular needles, aka "shorties", for socks. There are some avid fans of this tool for socks in our group, and though others swear by double-points, it sounds like they might give the shorties a try some time!
Carol stumbled upon a YouTuber who visited our store recently! @Mdaysvlog Moran and her family was visiting New England from Israel — and happened upon The Goat!
