Socktober 24 — Virtual Meet-Up 10/16/24
Hurray! During this Socktober meet-up, we celebrated multiple folks for completing their first sock and casting on for their second, and Jill has finished a pair! It's not a race, so we were equally jazzed to see folks working on their first sock. AND —hurray for Bev, a new sock knitter who has successfully cast on and knit her ribbing on DPNs.
We got to meet Mona's two new kittens who are making it tough for her to get much knitting in, but they are REALLY cute! AND, Bev's black cat Ninja perfectly coordinates with her Fox and Pine stitch stoppers — it's pretty awesome to be able to match your stitch stoppers to your pet.
Kimberly showed us her home knitting library — we were jealous! — 60% of which is comprised of sock books! She shared one of her favorite titles for unique colorwork socks called OP Art Socks: Creative Effects in Sock Knitting by Stephanie van der Linden and published in 2013 by Interweave Press: https://www.amazon.com/Op-Art-Socks-C...
