Hey, it's Matt here with a quick guide on how to toggle hardware acceleration in Google Chrome. So, let's dive right in.
If you're on Chrome, just look for the three dots at the top right corner of your window. You might notice an avatar or maybe even a prompt to relaunch Chrome for an update, but that's not what we're here for today.
Go ahead and click on those three dots, then scroll all the way down to "Settings." Once you're on the settings page, you'll want to look for the panel on the left. Scroll down near the bottom and click on "System." Here, you'll find an option that says "Use hardware acceleration when available." It's also known as graphics acceleration now.
I have mine turned on because my machine can handle it, and it can really boost performance. But if you need to turn it off for any reason, it's as simple as toggling this switch.
There's no need to save; it automatically updates. Just remember, you'll need to restart Chrome for the changes to take effect.
