Relayed over NOAA Weather Radio to warn of two escaped inmates that were last seen in White Cloud.
On my latest binge of making realistic EAS screens, here we have a recreation of a screen that is in a way, homebrew. WNAS-TV in 1990 decided to use a character generator program on an Atari 800XL. This unique screen has spawned multiple scenarios to be recreated with their own version of this screen. The original video can be found here: • WNAS-TV 1990: Clark County Tornado Warning... . This is the only proof of this screen ever being used in real life.
On the video, the top line had the TV information, and the bottom had the radio information. However, I do like the "EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM" text at the top. When people mock this screen, usually use the Atari Class Smooth font, rather than the chunky font. I went with the chunky font because it was essentially a copy of what the Atari rendered (yes, rendered; most fonts on old computers are rendered in real time; also known as Raster Fonts).
