In this week's video we try to shed some light on the rather complicated legal framework that constitutes the source for the rules and regulations one has to adhere to when driving a train on German tracks, discussing as we go some implications of dividing railway companies in infrastructure managers (EIU) and railway operators (EVU) to finally end up with an overview over the tools the infrastructure manager (especially in person of the dispatcher) can use to manage the running of train services on their network.

Full passenger run on a Dosto train pulled by a DB Baureihe 182 EuroSprinter locomotive from Dessau to Leipzig on Dovetail Games' rusty Rapid Transit DLC for Train Sim World 4, featuring a short tutorial about the legal framework for running trains in Germany (22:26), the system of additional regulations and best practice rules provided by infrastructure managers and railway operators (34:34) and the dispatcher's toolbox for coordinating and micro-managing traffic on the network (47:00).
