Women Entrepreneurship in Nepal / Entrepreneuriat féminin au Népal
Women entrepreneurs in Nepal face many obstacles in accessing credit, technology, and adequate training. To help remove these barriers, CECI partnered with the Federation of Women Entrepreneur Association Nepal (FWEAN), an organization that supports 10% of the 500,000 self-employed women in the country.
The Uniterra program has played a vital role in empowering FWEAN and its members, building their institutional capacities through the development of a strategic plan, a communications and fundraising strategy, and customized training.
Uniterra volunteers also supported the organization of the International Trade Expo, a marketing platform bringing together Nepalese and international women entrepreneurs, providing opportunities for product sales, networking, and knowledge sharing. Since then, FWEAN has been able to organize five other international trade fairs, hence providing more business opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Nepal.
