Pwojè Klima / Projet KLIMA / The KLIMA Project
Le projet KLIMA (Konbit pou LIte kont Chanjman kliMAtik) entend soutenir les communautés et les partenaires locaux des régions du Nord et du Nord-Est d’Haïti dans leurs efforts de lutte contre les changements climatiques, notamment par l’amélioration de la résilience des écosystèmes, et se propose de les accompagner dans le développement d’une économie verte et durable.
Mené en collaboration avec la société québécoise Viridis Terra International (VTI) et avec la contribution du programme de coopération volontaire Uniterra, le projet KLIMA vise à réduire les émissions de gaz à effet de serre par l’implantation de forêts énergétiques durables mais aussi par la mise en place d’un système de valorisation des déchets organiques par compostage. Il comporte en outre un volet de sensibilisation et de formation des populations concernées.

The KLIMA Project (Konbit pou LIte kont Chanjman kliMAtik) intends to support communities and local partners in Haiti’s North and North Eastern regions in their efforts to combat climate change, by improving the resilience of ecosystems in particular, and offers to assist them in developing a green and sustainable economy.
Conducted in collaboration with the Quebec company Viridis Terra International and with the contribution of the Uniterra volunatary cooperation program, the KLIMA Project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by creating sustainable energy forests, and by implementing an organic waste recycling system through composting. In addition, it consists of an awareness and training component for the concerned populations.
