In this video I will show you a basic configuration of VXLAN on a topology using Cisco Nexus switches. We'll see how we can span a Layer 2 network segment across the underlay network using VXLAN. For the control plane portion of the VXLAN configuration, we'll configure the "Flood and Learn" multicast underlay.
Virtual eXtensible LAN, or VXLAN is a network virtualization technology that is exceptionally useful for large datacenter and cloud computing deployments. VXLAN has been developed to overcome some of the limitations of scalability that are inherent to more traditional Layer 2 technologies.
