The iBGP split-horizon rule states that an iBGP router must not advertise any route it has learned from one iBGP peer to another iBGP peer. That's a little strange right? Well, in this video I'll be describing this rule in more detail, including how it works, why it is necessary, and what would happen if the rule is not followed. Finally, we'll examine under what circumstances this rule must be violated in order for other mechanisms to function correctly.
