Multi-Protocol BGP with Ethernet VPN is an excellent option to employ the control plane underlay for a VXLAN deployment. However, in order to allow the communication between hosts on different VNIs, we need to employ Layer 3 mechanisms to allow this. In this video, I will delve deep into how to deploy an MP-BGP EVPN topology that allows inter-VNI routing. We'll examine the logic behind how such a topology operates.
Virtual eXtensible LAN, or VXLAN is a network virtualization technology that is exceptionally useful for large datacenter and cloud computing deployments. VXLAN has been developed to overcome some of the limitations of scalability that are inherent to more traditional Layer 2 technologies.
