MAJOR X1.1 Solar Flare & HALO CME | March 23, 2024
Active Region 13614 and Active Region 13615 just produced simultaneous solar flares .The combined X-Ray event peaked to X1.1 at 01:33 UTC March 23rd. The main event seems to have come from Active Region 13615 appears to be the brighter of the two events.
A spectacular Halo Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is now visible via the STEREO Ahead spacecraft and SEEDS. As of making this video official agencies have not bothered to make an animated forecast for this earth-facing event however is is likely that the combined blasts of the solar surface will create geomagnetic storming conditions sometime into March 26 where auroras should be visible at mid to high latitudes.
