There's no denying the imagistic bombshell this movie was and still is. An anti-bucolic tone poem, loosely strung together by a motif of stray cats and lawless youth in poverty, it somehow exceeds its excess in realizing a state of un-grace and a new aesthetic extreme. It's duck tape on nipples and leaves marks.
