There's so many shake-n'-bake theories about this movie, so why not throw in my own? Just watch all the shots with Christmas trees, and you get an entirely different perspective of the film! Something curious about this faux-analysis: there are no Christmas trees during the masked party, and so nothing from that sequence appears here. See also the Old English poem: "The Dream of the Rood." (One clip at the cocktail party in the beginning was trimmed for music copyright, but it's a tree seen in many other shots.)
