Smuggling: Customs Intercepts Cannabis Sativa Worth Over N57m In Kwara State
The Kwara State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a Daf Truck conveying about 1,153 parcels of prohibited cannabis sativa smartly and carefully hidden in fabricated compartments and other components of the Daf truck with an estimated duty paid value of over N57 million.
The Customs Area Controller, Faith Ojeifo disclosed this during a press conference at the Command base in Ilorin the Kwara State capital where he noted that the vehicle was intercepted along the Yamboa Axis of Bukoro in the Baruten local government area of the State.
According to the Customs Area Controller, the Daf used in conveying the drugs worth 21.5 million naira will be forfeited to the federal government.
