Human Rights: I.C.R.C., N.D.A. Committed To Enhance Humanitarian Law
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) have reiterated their commitment to enhancing humanitarian law and promoting respect for human rights within the military training ethics of cadets and the academic curriculum.
This was affirmed during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a three-day symposium on International Human Rights for the graduating cadets of the 71st Regular Course, the 28th Direct Short Service Course (Army), and the 32nd (Air Force) Course at the NDA headquarters in Kaduna.
The partnership aims to develop training programs, workshops, and research initiatives focused on humanitarian law, human rights, and military ethics. It also seeks to integrate international humanitarian law into the academy's curriculum.
