Just what is 32 bit float audio and does it really make recording easier
Have you heard of 32 bit float audio? I hadn't until recently but got curious. I then downloaded some samples and was surprised to find that when someone was talking quietly I could lift the audio level without significantly raising the noise. I then tried a clip that was distorted and when I lowered it there was no distorting. It didn't take me long to buy one and try and not sooner had I put it through its paces than I had to use it for real.
Two presenters talking at very different volumes but I could easily adjust both in post production. This is so cool. As a single shooter this is invaluable. If like me how many times has someone started talking loudly or two quietly. Perhaps you did a sound check but then were louder when you started.
