Final Cut Pro - Scene Removal Mask - Background removal without green screen
If like me you have to do green screen every now and again you know that it can be a bit time consuming both when recording and also when editing. There are also times I get asked to do green screen when I haven't brought it along. Well now in Final Cut Pro there is a new effect called scene removal mask. It is meant to do away with having to do green screen, although that still has its place. As long as at the beginning or end of the video you have at least one frame without the presenter(s) in the shot you can remove the background using this effect.
A good idea is to make sure that the presenter and what they are wearing contrast against the background so that they don't blend in.
It strikes me that his is going to get better and better with machine learning and AI.
