Lupin Management in South Iceland
Every so often, SEEDS is able to host volunteers from other organizations around the globe.
Here in the Reykjanes Geopark, a group from Lithuania aided in removing the invasive lupin species. Lupin was brought over from North America in the 18th century and since then has exploded across the Icelandic country side.
The Icelandic group that the volunteers worked with feel that the Lupin is spreading too rapidly over the native ecosystem and vegetation. This day of volunteering is one of the many different projects available for volunteers to help with!
