Volunteers Visit a Volcano in Iceland
Long-term volunteers from SEEDS Iceland decided to take a day trip to the newest active volcano in Iceland called Geldingardalsgos, which is around a 50-minute ride from Reykjavík, the country's capital. The 6000-year-old volcano is situated in Fagradalsfjall and is the first volcano to erupt on the Reykjanes Peninsula in South West Iceland in nearly 800 years. To get to the volcano, the volunteers had to hike around two hours on the pavement, mossy lava fields, and mountains, accompanied by the beautiful Icelandic nature.
