SEEDS Environmentally Aware & Trash Hunting in Reykjavík
Jesus Esdrás Candelaria Rodriguez made a video about the SEEDS' workcamp he attended 7-15 September 2021 in Reykjavík.
The volunteers in the camp came from Mexico, Portugal, Belgium and Switzerland. We did several trash huntings in Reykjavík and one in the area of Reykjanes Penninsula. We heard presentations about zero waste, slow travel, biodiversity, organic farming and we held a debate about veganism. We learned a lot about environmental awareness also by watching documentaries. Everyone shared the habits and the lifestyle of their countries and regions and delicious meals for the intercultural dinner. Additionally we went on excursions to discover the beautiful landscapes of Iceland and we visited the Whale museum as well as the Árbær Open Air Museum in Reykjavík. At the end of the camp friendships were made and it was hard to say goodbye.
