Now we're going to look at some of the ways that convergence applications can further help workers in the e-business environment. The key to converged applications is simplification.
Converged applications combine processes that used to be separate, so they save time and money. Business applications must be able to directly leverage all the information received by companies, and use it more efficiently to support all business operations. It no longer makes sense for a company to receive information from multiple sources and manually input this information into separate databases. Convergence helps link databases and allows them to share information.
Converging applications will streamline business practices the way that converging communication media like email, voicemail and fax will make individuals more efficient. The ability to apply convergence applications to e-business makes sense for the business, the user, and customer.
