i really highly appreciate the watch and read. i wrote something in the bridge of the song too as the song is really deep and meaningful to me. along with my video edit itself. i try to really also show the power with the song through my video effects i did.

pet cheetah. i absolutely LOVE this song by twenty one pilots. and holy fuck, this edit in reality took me two years to finish because okay, this entire pmv/edit was originally made back in 2018. however, the more i listened to the song over time the more it started to mean something really deep to me and help me through my hardest times. as time went on, i got more ideas to edit it and say, make it even better than it originally was. i came back to this video and started to edit it back in february of 2021. the years 2019 to 2021 were incredibly rough for me. my closest friends know what i went through which was extremely traumatic and horrible. so, what did i do to cope with all the depression and trauma that i went through? i, of course turned to art and music which is what i usually do to cope with my ocd thoughts that i may have recurring of past things that i go through in my life. this song, pet cheetah, ended up being so significant to me and every single time, even till today, when i listen to it, i cry; get really emotional at the bridge part in the song. the music at that part is just truly beautiful, like the instrumental is genuinely so fucking good and such an immersive escape for me. slowing the song down too makes it more powerful and immersive which is why it is slowed down in my edit. but it's not just instrumental, it's also the lyrics and what tyler is saying that i really can connect with very deeply. the song is about tyler dealing with writer's block but also the pain that comes with dealing with any sort of “block” like that. for me, i deal with art block or editor's block often. the feeling of not being able to create when you want to can make you very depressed and sometimes feeling like you’re not able to dive back into your passion. i am someone who relies on my art and edits to also help me to keep going in my life. that's how important the things i create are for me. so for me, it can make my life really difficult when i'm not able to create or feel inspired. that's what tyler is also expressing with the song and then, he uses the metaphor of a cheetah. since this animal is extremely fast, powerful and strong, it's him saying that he has a pet cheetah that can help him to escape the block and to help him create or have that drive again to feel inspired. i like to think of a cheetah helping me out as well. cheetahs are animals that have one goal and that is to just survive out in the wild. they get this extreme drive to hunt for their food and they run at astonishing speeds of 80 mph. this is exactly how i think of the song and how i deeply relate to it with this message, and the cheetah is an important symbol to me as well. they are my favorite mammal ever. having a drive for a main goal too is the deeper way that i relate to this song. it has helped me through my depressive episodes for when my ocd has been absolutely awful. for the longest time, i was trying to “find the problem” with my ocd. wondering if there is any sign i need? and wondering where things went wrong. as tyler says the lyrics in the song, and my goal being to have my ocd shut up, for the past 3 years i felt like i would literally sit trying to figure out or pinpoint what went wrong in my past. then, ruminate on that. but that ruminating also caused me to have extreme irrational fears and really unnecessary anxiety that i wish i never had to deal with and i wish i never made the past mistakes that i did make. but nobody's perfect, and i’m just human and just trying to get by; living. with my birthday being 2 days ago now, and the fact that i’m 23, makes me really happy i didn’t end my life back in 2019. along with the times that i thought again and again that i would have after all the trauma that i went through, i'm happy to say that i have definitely recovered from a lot and my ocd is way more dormant now. it doesn't nag at me about my past mistakes anymore like it used to almost all the time and this song, this edit that i made, is such a wonderful, honestly awesome escape for me too. that is what i'm really expressing with rainbow dash in this video edit, along with the cheetah of course. rainbow dash being my fav pony in the show and i’m a lot like her so that’s why i chose her to go with the song from the beginning. i'm incredibly proud of this edit and i also think it turned out really cool with all the effects i did and the overlays too. i'm quite proud of myself for making it through my hardest times and i am living proof that things do get better even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes. but, it does and it's worth it to keep going. stay alive.
