European countries recommend limiting social gatherings for Christmas and the holiday season. Even though some of them wanted to relax the current restrictions, they are reviewing their own rules.
In North America, the United States, and Canada, public health officials have generally urged Americans to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas only with members of the same household, or to gather outdoors to avoid a further spread of the virus. In the rest of the world, the recommendations are also in the direction of caution.
