Monday May 10 2021, a US Coast Guard Cutter fired two sets of warning shots at Iranian fast boats harassing US warships escorting the Ohio-class guided-missile submarine USS Georgia (SSGN-729) into the entrance to the Persian Gulf.The warning shots were fired from a 50-caliber machine gun after following all established procedures for alerting, honking ships, deck-to-deck radio transmissions and other means of communication. After the two rounds of warning shots, the Iranian fast attack speed boats broke contact.
