Frankie Valli’s first release as a solo artist since the 4 Seasons began their hit making run with “Sherry” in the fall on 1962. “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine (Anymore)” bubbled under at #128. Thet song was revived by the Walker Brothers (also on Smash) and their version made it to #13 (#1 in the UK).
Frankie’s version later appeared as a track on his debut LP, “Solo” in 1967.
