2024-12-22 A Review of Marian Devotion
In this homily, I’ve done a synopsis of the three previous homilies on The Rosary and devotion to Mother Mary. It included an exegesis of the ‘Hail Mary’ from the Gaelic version and an exegesis of the 20 ‘mysteries of the Rosary – Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous. Then I opened it up to a Q&A session in which we covered: (a) Working with pain – Tong Len; (b) Literal, symbolic and mystical understanding of sacred texts; (c) Personalizing community prayer; (d) St. Brigid’s cross. Then comes a wonderful exegesis, by Amy Dillion, of the Garden of Eden and the symbolism of Jesus, Mary and Gaia.
