Ruckus: MPC 2500 Sampling (Beat Making)
I found a dope sample from an old Jazz song, and instead of going for a typical loop, I found just a couple of tiny parts to work with. After that I just built around it like some horns and the tail end of a string sound.
Most of the time Jazz music is hard to sample, even if you're grabbing an entire loop. The way Jazz is performed it makes it difficult to get a typical 4/4 timing like beatmakers are used to sampling. So when I sample Jazz, I'm looking for specific sounds rather than something catchy.
