Sehome Hill Ski Down
This one is a special video that I wouldn't normally upload. After a weeklong cold spell of temps down to 4º F, a snowstorm swept through northwestern Washington's lowlands. Over half a foot of snow was dumped down in the river valleys, as far south as Mt. Vernon. In Bellingham, Sehome Hill Arboretum sits on a small foothill, as the name suggests. During the snowstorm, the access road was closed, and covered enough to be skiable, so I took an exceedingly rare opportunity to ski a powder day within a city. As you may expect from an access road built for cars, the road is very flat, and many times not steep enough to keep any momentum when skiing down. The timestamps below mark each of these sections of skating flat terrain, and skiing steep enough terrain. The video thumbnail contains a beginner trail marker because that is how I would rate this "trail".
