Rainier Express was installed in 1988, becoming the first high-speed lift in Washington. It replaced Iceberg Ridge, a Riblet double which was installed in 1962. Rainier Express is a Poma high-speed quad, using a prototype terminal model which does not have a name. Only three of these terminals were ever installed, all in 1988. White Peaks Express at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, was removed and replaced in 2022, Angel Express at Sunshine Village, Alberta, will be removed and replaced at the end of the 2024 season, which leaves Rainier Express as the last of the three lifts with this terminal. Crystal Mountain has discussed replacing this lift in the near future, but no timeline has been set, so this lift continues to live on.
