Anne Samat’s new show is a labor of love ❤️
Love is open now in MASS MoCA's Kidspace gallery. Samat's exquisitely adorned sculptures come together from traditional Southeast Asian Pua Kumbu weavings and household goods from 99 cent stores. The totemic figurative sculptures resonate as avatars of family members or friends, and are dedicated to the feeling of love – in personal relationships, in past generations that paved the way for her, and in potential feelings that could exist among strangers.
