Digital Marketing Advice for Small Businesses: Fake Marketing
In today's episode, we talk about Fake Marketing and how to avoid these online scams to save your hard earned marketing dollars.
There are a couple of fake marketing service out there which are designed to take your money quickly and almost without incident. It is also a "you get what you pay for" type of situation.
Fake website traffic. Let's just start by saying you will not have 10K unique visitors to your site for $59 dollars. This is a scam that I feel for when I was 18. Do not make the mistake as I did, I learned so I can tell you how to avoid it as a small business.
Fake backlinks. Have you noticed all the fake comments at the bottom of a blog? This is exactly what fake backlinks are and often times know as know comment spam. Avoid this tactic because it will not get you ahead and Google knows how to eliminate these spammers.
Fake followers. You are telling me that for $10 I will have 1K extra followers. Save the money and do not buy fake followers that will never engage with your posts. These marketing tactics will ruin your credibility when vendors only see 2-3 likes on your photos.
Fake engagement. Nobody is going to like your photos and it will require building community. Fake engagement is almost worse when compared to fake followers because you are paying the fake follower people to like your photos. Just avoid it at all costs.
Do you want to build a meaningful community around your brand? This is going to require putting in the work and it has to happen each and every day. When you start to put in the actual work it is going to multiply by the multiple you put in. Start by avoiding these strategies and bootstrap your marketing if you want to save money.
