Exploring Union Station: LA’s Iconic Movie Landmark
This is the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States and an iconic movie location for Blade Runner, Catch Me if You Can, and The Dark Knight Rises.
It was commissioned in 1933, and designed by the father-and-son architect team of John and Donald Parkinson.
It was finished in 1939 for a reported $11 million.
Now, it is regarded as “the last of the great train stations" and symbolizes downtown’s renaissance and a bustling transportation hub.
