FOREIGN "FILM" SALES (Part 2)... ("Money Money Money")
--------------------------------------------
FOREIGN SALES: Let's not talk theory. Let's cut to the chase. Let's talk Money-Money-Money. Money from Singapore. Money from Russia. Money from Germany, China, Korea, Israel, etc. also called "Foreign Sales-Foreign Sales-Foreign Sales" and "Global Pre-Sales-Global Pre-Sales-Global-Pre-Sales".
There are 3 major Film Markets every year (AFM, Cannes Marche & EFM) where over 3,000 buyers come to purchase non-Hollywood Feature Films, after they've been made (this is called "Foreign Sales"), or pre-buy at discounted rates, before they've been made (this is called "Pre-Sales") that, again... are not made by Hollywood.
This Tip is on Foreign Sales, after a film has been made, has gone to the Festival Circuit and has had a small release (20-30 prints) for 3 weeks in North America.
AND....THE FOREIGN SALES for a Feature Film with an under $1,000,000 budget...the numbers range contingent on what the movie did with North America Box Office Grosses.
Add up the numbers. Now throw in North American Theatrical, Product Placement, DVD, On-Demand, Pay-Cable, Free TV, Music, Books... and you know why business s people love the Movie Business.
