The Challenges and Benefits of Deploying IoT Devices to the Restaurant Environment.
He discussed the challenges of digitizing the restaurant. Challenges include deploying dozens of IoT devices in bandwidth-constrained environments, putting a payment device on a restaurant table (and all the perils involved), handling offline events and Internet outages.
He also talked about the pain points many restaurant owners have and how technology can solve these problems – and create brand new revenue streams for these low-margin environments.

has a 25-year track record of uniting business and engineering goals to produce top-tier products. He's headed numerous global engineering teams, specializing in areas like wireless, cloud, IoT, semiconductors, and large-scale mixed-technology platforms. Before Ziosk, he led SiriusXM's wireless connected vehicle initiative in collaboration with car manufacturers. Eric also held leadership roles at successful startups like Cambridge Silicon Radio and Efficient Networks. He loves forming elite engineering groups and is currently dedicated to leveraging technology to elevate the dining experience.
