discussed their journey of changing out an old oil and gas SCADA system in Texas with a modern Internet of Things (IoT) system.
Bruce and Brian explained why the change was needed and what it took to install the new system.
The new solution uses over 100 ABB Totalflow field controllers, the Ignition SCADA system, MQTT protocol, and new private multipoint radios.
Bruce and Brian walked us through system design... and the several project realities that bit their team hard.
They discussed the lessons they learned on the bleeding edge about capacity and reliability.
They then wrapped up with some items beyond the budget to be aware of for next time.
