The main difference between the MiG-23 and MiG-27
The MiG-27 is a ground-attack aircraft derived from the MiG-23. It features improved pilot visibility and increased armor around the cockpit. It is primarily equipped for air-to-ground weaponry and was the first Mikoyan aircraft to incorporate a digital weapon control system.
The MiG-27 is optimized for low-altitude, high-speed strike missions and is equipped with a powerful Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-6-30 rotary cannon, as well as a variety of air-to-ground missiles, bombs, and rockets. It saw extensive service with the Soviet Air Force and its allies during the Cold War and remained in service with several countries well into the 21st century.
