A splashy ad in the January 3, 1943, Daily Oklahoman, announced that APCO (American Petroleum Company) acquired the Ramsey Tower (City Place today) and renamed the building the APCO Tower. It remained so until the building was sold to Liberty National Bank in 1952 when it became the Liberty Tower.
