In the Japanese language, the term kamikaze is known as both "divine wind" and "breath of God."
The word Kamikaze is actually a misreading from the West of the Japanese word 神風特攻隊 Shimpū Tokkōtai special attack force. Due to the special reading and spelling of the Japanese script, errors often occur.When the word Kamikaze is used, it means the Japanese Kamikaze pilots from the Second World War who flew targeted suicide attacks against the enemy U.S. military targets.
The most famous historical event is known from the Pacific War in 1941 with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.Through education, propaganda and partly voluntarism, the Japanese Imperial Naval Air Force recruited the pilots of the "Special Attack Force".
