The prickly pear is a tropical fruit originally from America and Central America.It is the oldest cultivated plant in the area. Even the ancient Aztecs used it as food and even for medicinal purposes. In 16 centuries the Spanish conquistadors brought the plant to Europe.The prickly pear is the fruit of the Opuntia cactus Opuntia ficus-indica of the cactus family. The prickly pears in the video come from Italy. I strongly advise you to wear gloves because the skin of the prickly pears contains small invisible spines and my fingers were full of spines for days after the video was shot. The taste of the prickly pears reminds me of normal figs and is sweet and sour. The season of the prickly pear is from July to September is in Germany goods from Italy in trade. Israel and Kenya deliver all year round.
