Scotch Brain, The Australia Day Test 2019
Happy Australia Day, it’s become a bit of a tradition to do a ripper test on Australia day and 2019 is no exception, Dingo popped up and managed to get him out of test retirement to have a crack at the Scotch Brain, a chinense variety. It’s a cross between a Scotch Bonnet and Brainstrain, got the seeds for this great pheno from our great mate Justin from White Hot Peppers in the US of A (thanks mate)
The Plants grow to over a meter tall, golf ball sized pods that start off a green and end up a bright yellow, a great producer, you will get lots from these. Been waiting for them to ripen so could give them a go so today Dingo and I have a crack at the Scotch Brain
What’s it Like?
How Hot is It?
Straight up FRUITY, a nice chinense flavour, sweet and a touch florally its Beautiful, the flavour stays for ages and could still taste it even after we finished doing the test. One of the nicest pods that have ever tried
Heat didn’t really hit till finished chewing/swallowing but then WHACK, it kicks in a clean heat that settles in the back of the throat, tongue and bottom half of the mouth and starts building and then the rest of the mouth catch’s up. The burn goes for ages as well and would put it up around yellow 7 pod heat
This beauty goes into my top 10 favourite pods, flavour is sensational, heat is ripping but not nasty and a great producer, if into tasty hot pods then these are definitely one to get
