The Green Drake is one of the most exciting mayfly hatches to experience. This large, size 8 mayfly often brings big trout to the surface. Unfortunately, it can also be a very difficult hatch to time right here in the Eastern United States, as it often only lasts for a few days in one particular stretch of stream. The nymphs, however, can be active for several days prior to the hatch, throughout the hatch, and even when they're gone, trout will still be keying on them. The Eastern Green Drake Nymph is a great pattern to fish during these times.
